The news
New Delhi, October 14. India’s LNG supplier list was reshuffled in September, The Indian Express reports from Kpler vessel-tracking data. Oman and Nigeria topped the list and the US, top supplier in recent months, slipped to third as European importers bought American cargoes before winter. US volumes fell 60.7% month-on-month to 0.34 million tonnes; Oman rose 11.6% to 0.59; Qatar was 88.5% below a year earlier. Over May–September imports rose 17.8% to 11.87 million tonnes: the US supplied 28.7%, Oman nearly a fifth, Nigeria 18.5%, the UAE 9.3% and Qatar 3.4%, down 90.2%. India meets about half its gas need through LNG; about 60% of that came through Hormuz before the war, while Oman’s exports do not depend on the strait.
