For school principals

Baal Darpanin your school

बाल दर्पण, आपके विद्यालय में

A 20-minute daily bell for every class from playgroup to Class 12. Eight batches, no cost and no login: one phone and a projector are enough.

What your school receives

A school under the open sky, inside your timetable

Baal Darpan is the children’s school of the Vidyadhaam. It already runs every day on upscdarpan.in; this is how it comes into a classroom.

A 20-minute daily bell

One short period a day: a quiet minute, two short lessons, one question. It fits before assembly or after lunch.

Live

Eight batches

Seven batches from playgroup to Class 12, and an eighth for young aspirants. Each child learns at their own level, in simple Hinglish.

Live

Meri Raah

A strengths guide that shows a child where they shine: a direction, never a mark. Parents and teachers have their own view.

Live

Classrooms and subject rooms

A classroom for every batch and a room for every subject: fifteen subjects, from Physics to Paisa and Law to Poshan.

Live

Teacher notes

A short note with every lesson: what to ask, what to watch for, and how to close the period.

With the trial

Printable sheets

Chaupal sheets for homes without a phone and for the classroom wall: the day’s lesson on one page.

With the trial

Safe content rules

No ads, no chat, no strangers, no public profiles. Every lesson is written to safe-content rules for its age.

Live

No cost, ever

No fees, no devices to buy, no contract to sign. The school can stop at any time.

Always

One phone and a projector

It runs in the browser of the school’s phone, on any projector or smart TV. Lessons can be read aloud for the little ones.

Eight batches, one ladder

Every batch a ray of the same sun

Each batch is named for the sun, from Mitra to Marichi, and grows with the child. A school can begin with one class or with all of them.

Inside the 20 minutes

A quiet minute, two lessons, one reason

A suggested shape for the period. The teacher decides; the bell only keeps the habit.

CALM

Morning calm

The class breathes slowly with the rising sun on screen and settles.

TWO SUBJECTS

Today’s two lessons

Two short lessons from the day’s bell, read aloud or projected, with one picture and one everyday example each.

ONE REASON

One question, one “because”

Every child writes one line that begins with “because”.

The 30-day trial

Four weeks, then an honest decision

The trial is small on purpose: one coordinator, the classes the school chooses, and a review at the end in which the school decides whether to continue.

Week 1

Set up

  • The principal names one coordinator
  • The school chooses the classes for the trial
  • One test run on the classroom phone and projector
  • A note to parents, written by us, sent by the school
Week 2

The bell rings

  • Twenty minutes a day in each trial class
  • A teacher note guides each lesson
  • The coordinator logs only “rang” or “did not ring”
Week 3

Children lead

  • Older students read a lesson to a younger class
  • Meri Raah introduced to children and parents
  • Chaupal sheets go home where there is no phone
Week 4

Look back

  • A 30-minute review with the coordinator and two teachers
  • What to keep, what to change
  • The school decides whether to continue

What the school gives, and what we measure

Little is asked. Nothing about a child is taken.

  1. One coordinatorA teacher who keeps the bell ringing and speaks for the school.
  2. Twenty minutes a dayIn the trial classes, at a time the school chooses.
  3. Honest feedbackA short weekly note from the coordinator, and the review in week four.

What we measure: habits, never marks

HabitOn how many school days the bell rang, out of the days it could.
Reasons writtenHow many children wrote a “because” line, counted by the class, not by name.
Calm practiceOn how many days the class began with the morning calm.

Never measured

  • Marks, ranks or comparisons between children
  • Names, photographs or any personal data of a child
  • Anything that leaves the school without the school’s consent

For the staff room

The one-page summary

Print it for the staff meeting or the parents’ notice board. It prints on one A4 sheet.
